What is a close rate in door-to-door sales?

Close rate: Close rate is the share of your sales conversations or appointments that end in a signed deal. Reps and managers use it, with doors knocked and contacts made, to see where a rep needs work.

Door-to-door sales is tracked as a funnel: doors knocked, people who answered, conversations, presentations and sales. Close rate is the last step. A closer might measure it per sit; a pest or fiber rep per conversation.

The numbers point to the fix. Few conversations per door is an approach or timing problem. Plenty of conversations and few sales is a pitch or qualifying problem. Comparing your funnel with a top rep's on the same turf shows which one you have.
